Dear valued clients & friends,

Every once in a while, when I get the opportunity to look outside my office and my eyes scan over the different Teams servicing their customers, I am amazed. Amazed by the frantic pace by which the travel consultants are sourcing, acquiring and locking in the dates and seats and rooms that you, our valued client has requested. We would love to say that things run smoothly, and for the most part they do.

Over the years, many of our travel consultants have become very familiar with you, and I dare say you have become accustomed to each individual travel consultant from the teams as well. This familiarity or closeness that exists between you and your “favorite” consultant is a relationship which I believe, is akin to that of Bruce Wayne and Alfred (Batman and his butler), or even, James Bond and “Q” (007 and his special tools provider).

To this end, many of you have written your service compliments in to the Management here at Global Travel to express your heartfelt appreciation and thanks for the work that our staff have done. As much as we would like to say, “We are simply doing our jobs…” that isn’t quite the whole truth. The fact of the matter is, we are extremely proud of our staff for being able to meet and exceed your level of expectations. No amount of training or encouragement can really account for going the extra mile. It’s actually a very personal thing.

Global Travel as you may already know, has been participating in a Singapore Government-sponsored service excellence program known as the EXSA program since 2003. What’s unique about this program is that the eligibility of nominees for the program starts and ends with you, our client. Over the years, Global Travel has consistently fielded the largest number of qualified nominees and winners in the Silver, Gold, Star and even Super Star category. We won the Super Star award for 2005 & 2006, and finalist in 2007. Well, you may ask how this works. And the answer is simple.

We collect the number of written compliments that you send in to us, and collate them against that individual staff, and then submit it to EXSA. All said and done, it’s not just a one or two liner that the panel judges are looking for; letters of compliments must be brief but descriptive, and say how the recipient of the compliment was able to wow the client.

Over the past 5 years, over 60 staff at Global Travel has been nominated, or has won the EXSA awards. In a fast changing and unpredictable environment, this has delivered our staff with a huge morale boost, as well as, a well-deserved recognition for the important work that they have done-in 2007 we had 17 nominees and winners in all!

Well, 2008 is here already, and my word, we are half way through the first quarter already. If any of us has wowed you with our extraordinary service, do write in to us by 31 March 2008, and you could very well nominate the next EXSA Superstar Winner for 2008!

For letters of compliments please write to: tellme@globaltravel.com.sg

Cheers

Charles Tan
