Dear valued clients & friends,
I ate too much over the last two weeks of 2007…and it showed. How quick it is when too much food and drinks pass our lips and just some how shows up on our hips! For those of us who can also nod our heads and say “Ah huh, me too...” Take heart, you have a whole year to make it right. Just follow a time tested formula: “Eat regularly and exercise more”
That’s my resolution for 2008! Just one…of many…
I have not only one and I think this year, I am gonna make it – that is keeping my resolutions. How many of us make resolutions every year and see our commitment wane whenever we are tempted to slack? Well, join the club. You and I are no different – the same struggles at work, home and our own person. For those of us who need a booster to achieve your resolutions this year,
Remember,
Making a New Year resolution is not equal to achieving your New Year resolutions
You have to do things a bit differently. If you like to learn more, I have written a small article on goal setting and you are free to have it. Just email me back and ask. I’ll send you one.
Okay Bruce, so what’s with this resolution thing?
Well, because here at Global and Scenic travel, we have only one resolution:
“We deliver what we promise; this is our promise to you!”
And as the year turns new again, we must hold our hands to our hearts and commit to be resolute to deliver what we promise:
- To our Clients
- To our Staff
- To our Families
- To our Friends
Because integrity in business and personal life is important and once we lose the trust that others have given us, it is very difficult to win the trust back. We cannot take for granted that the business we are able to do with you is always based on the idea that you trust us to get it done for you and be there to help when you need it. Reliability is a hall mark of any business and once we do not deliver what we promise, then we might as well not start in the first place. I am compelled to shout out loud my pledge….
So here it is, “We at Global and Scenic Travel commit to deliver our highest service to you, to be there when you need us, to anticipate your requirements and deliver on our promises. We appreciate your business and appreciate your trust in us”
Brings a tear to my eye…sniff…
I hope we will continue to have your support and business for 2008! Pleassssssssse! (I’m not begging, haha!)
Looking ahead, what’s cooking on our calendars?
Well, I had a peek at the marketing plans and promos for 2008 and it looked real juicy! Here is a sneak peek for what’s coming:
- Client appreciation night
- Sales booster promos, Secretaries day
- Travel bookers’ trip (keep fingers crossed)
- Mid autumn festival promo
- Ad hoc gifts and contests scattered throughout the year
- Special travel packages for long weekends (there’s a couple for 2008)
- Year long loyalty program for travel bookers
Just to mention a few.
I hope it has whet your appetite to continue your business with us, there will be plenty of opportunity to interact with all of us here at Global and Scenic Travel – and I don’t mean just on the phones…
I look forward to communicating with all of you even more and to share more fun and facts so that our days can be joyful and fulfilling!
In this issue,
We like to remind you that Terminal 3 will commence operation from 9 January 2008. There are some flight departure changes. Also, SQ will introduce flights to Houston, Texas come March 2008. It is a one stop flight via Moscow.
Have you been to Sao Paulo? Emirates will give you up to three nights complimentary hotel stay if you book and fly before 31 January 2008.
“Death to drug traffickers!”
Singapore has always been very clear about this message and you will hear this warning onboard all returning flights as well as the immigration cards to be filled. We like to remind you that there are other prohibited items which you can get into serious trouble with the authorities. So it does not harm if you have a look at this ICA website which outlines what items are prohibited. Why am I reminding you? From our sources in NATAS, there has been an increase in the number of such “prohibited item” cases through airport and checkpoints. Please do not risk it! The price to pay is not worth it.
Our travel feature is Tohoku, Japan. One of the most historical parts of Japan, its landscape looks unchanged as it did many centuries ago. If you like a historical piece of Japan, contact Scenic Travel now for exciting packages to this charming destination! Incidentally, I believe Japan is enjoying a revival from us Singaporeans! Don’t miss out!
As usual, we have airfare promos and embassy closure schedules.
Finally,
To all of you, who enjoy life as much as I do, live with Passion! Here’s wishing you an enriching, fulfilling and prosperous 2008!
